The growth process of a pine tree is quite lengthy, requiring many stages. As an ornamental greenery plant, shaped pines are more susceptible to various adverse factors. This phenomenon is particularly evident within the first 1-3 years after planting, necessitating careful maintenance to ensure the survival of the pine. So, what methods can promote faster growth?
Some landscape pines can grow healthily with the addition of the appropriate fertilizer. If it's especially fertile farmyard manure, the pines can grow rapidly, and their prices won't be too low either.
Abundant fertilizers can promote vigorous growth of seedlings. During planting, the shaped pine can be used as base fertilizer in combination with decomposed cow dung and horse manure. The base fertilizer needs to be mixed evenly with the subsoil. We've found that there was a misconception in the past that fertilizers should not be applied during the seedling stage of pine trees, but some breeders believe that applying fertilizers reasonably and moderately during the seedling stage, including early application of nitrogen and later application of phosphorus and potassium, can accelerate seedling growth and ensure the price of shaped pine. The results have been positive with no damage from fertilizer. In winter, some cow dung and horse manure can be combined with frozen water to promote the rapid growth of shaped pine. The following year, fertilization can be carried out during the growing season following the previous year's method, and cow dung and horse manure can be applied at the end of autumn. Starting from the third year, fertilization can proceed according to the method of the second year.
