Single yarn slivers refer to a phenomenon where one or several rows of loops on the surface of the fabric are either too large or too small, or unevenly spaced compared to other rows. In real production, single yarn slivers caused by raw materials are quite common.

The cause of the issue includes: a. Poor yarn quality, such as color differences in single fibers due to tight twisting, non-standard batch numbers of chemical fiber long fibers, or the use of long fibers without packaging colors, or the mixing of yarns with different deniers, which directly leads to the formation of horizontal stripes in single fibers.

b. Significant differences in the size of yarn cakes, or irregularities such as bulges and collapses in the form of the cakes themselves, lead to uneven tension during unwinding, which easily results in horizontal stripes on the yarn. This is due to the varying sizes of yarn cakes affecting their winding points and the diameter of the unwinding air circles, consequently leading to substantial differences in tension release patterns. During the weaving process, when tension differences reach high values, it can cause variations in yarn feeding quantity, ultimately resulting in inconsistent loop sizes.

When processing with porous and ultra-fine denier materials, the yarn track should be as smooth as possible. A slightly rough or oil污-encrusted guide hook can easily cause multiple single fibers of the material to break, resulting in color differences among the single fibers. Compared to processing with conventional materials, it is more demanding on the equipment and more prone to produce single fiber streaks in the fabric.

d. Inadequate machine adjustment, excessively deep or shallow needle triangle at a certain location, causing abnormal yarn tension and resulting in inconsistent loop sizes.
