To achieve a yarn with certain physical and mechanical properties such as strength, elasticity, elongation, luster, and feel, the cotton yarn must be twisted to alter its structure. This is accomplished by utilizing the relative angular displacement between the yarn's cross-sections, causing the originally straight, parallel fibers to tilt relative to the yarn axis, thereby changing the yarn's structure. During the twisting process, the thick strips gradually shrink in width and fold over, wrapping into the center of the yarn to form a twisted triangle. Within this triangle, the width and cross-section of the cotton strips change, evolving from flat strips to cylindrical yarn.
