When the actual finished product weight is lighter than the calculated theoretical weight, we need to carefully analyze the reasons. Based on our experience, we have summarized some common causes for you.

1. Overstretching in the pretreatment stage can lead to a reduction in yarn density. 2. The finished product is stretched too wide. 3. Excessive alkali concentration and overly high temperatures in the subsequent process can cause damage to the yarn fibers. 4. During the procurement of greige yarn, the yarn is finer than specified, for instance, a 40S is actually measured as 41S. 5. The greige yarn experiences significant wear during weaving, leading to excessive hair shedding and resulting in a finer weave and lower weight per unit area. 6. Recoloring or delustering during dyeing can cause significant yarn loss and result in a finer weave. 7. During singeing, excessive singeing power can lead to overly dry fabric surfaces, and yarn damage during desizing can cause thinning. 8. Damage to the fabric surface during the picking and napping finishing processes.
