Factors Causing Cross-Sectional Defects in Knitted Fabrics at Dyeing and Finishing Factory
(1) Poor state of dyeing and finishing equipment, including eccentric and warped roller shafts, poor roundness, and defective printing machine screens can result in cross bars on the fabric surface.
(2) The cross-bar caused by dyeing and finishing plant shutdown, due to inattention during operation, prolonged parking time, roller remaining on the fabric surface, and dye stains appearing. After the fabric surface is dried, the cross-bar becomes more pronounced.(3) Direct dyeing without proper pretreatment or incorrect pretreatment, as well as unreasonable dyeing time, temperature, pressure, and ratio of dyes and chemicals, results in uneven color on the fabric surface.(4) The cotton yarn fibers have hygroscopic properties, resulting in varying moisture regain rates. This leads to uneven dryness and wetness on the fabric surface, causing inconsistent dyeing and horizontal streaks with varying depths.(5) During the scouring process, water evaporation leads to insufficient moisture, causing the dyed fabric surface to expose dye locally, resulting in uneven coloring. The spacing of the cross-sections on this fabric surface lacks a clear regularity.(6) During the post-treatment process, improper high-temperature sizing resulted in cross grain fabric with sizing marks. Cross grain on the fabric caused by dyeing and finishing factors usually disappears after fading.After dyeing and padding, uneven drying rates during pre-drying can cause varying degrees of dye migration, resulting in inconsistent dye distribution on the fabric surface.
