Air jet spinning and ring spinning are two different textile technologies: one is a new method and the other an old-fashioned technique. Air jet spinning involves spinning fibers through a jet of air, while ring spinning is a mechanical process, utilizing spindles, steel bobbins, and wire rings to twist the yarn, with a roller system for extension. Generally, ring spun yarn has fewer fly ends, higher strength, and better quality. Air jet spinning processes are shorter, with more short fibers in the raw material, resulting in coarser yarns, lower counts, and lower twist levels, thus also being more affordable.

In terms of yarn structure, ring spun yarn is tighter, while air jet spun yarn is more fluffy with a rugged style, suitable for denim fabrics. The yarn from air jet spinning is generally coarser.
