What are the properties and applications of solid acrylic yarn?

Elasticity: It boasts excellent elasticity, ranking second only to polyester, about twice as high as nylon, and maintains good shape retention.

Acrylic's strength is not as high as polyester or nylon, but it is 1 to 2.5 times higher than wool.

Thermal Resistance: The fiber's temperature range is 190~230°C, ranking second only to polyester among synthetic fibers.

Lightfastness: Acrylic has excellent lightfastness among all synthetic fibers, maintaining only a 20% strength decrease after one year of outdoor exposure. It is resistant to acids, oxidizers, and general organic solvents but is not resistant to alkalis.

Acrylic fiber products have excellent loft and thermal properties, soft to the touch, and boast good climate resistance as well as anti-mold and anti-pest characteristics. The thermal insulation of acrylic is about 15% higher than that of wool. Acrylic can be blended with wool, and the products are mainly used in civil applications such as yarn, blankets, knitted sportswear, canvas, curtains, artificial fur, plush, etc. Acrylic is also a raw material for high-tech products like carbon fiber.
