To enhance the abrasion resistance, smoothness, and antistatic properties of the warp yarn during weaving, and to improve its strength, tenacity, and weaveability, sizing treatment is required before weaving, also known as sizing (protection of warp yarn). This is especially true for the widely used high-speed looms, such as jet looms and water-jet looms.
