Modal is a cellulose regenerative fiber developed by Austria's Lenzing AG, a high-moisture modulus rayon. The raw material for this fiber is European beechwood, which is first processed into wood pulp and then spun into fibers through a specialized process. The product is made entirely from natural materials, is harmless to the human body, and can decompose naturally, making it environmentally friendly. Modal fibers are produced by processing wood pulp from European shrub forests through a specialized spinning process. As a cellulose fiber, it belongs to the same category as cotton, which is a natural fiber.
Modal products are known for their excellent softness and moisture-wicking properties, but lack the crispness of other fabrics. They are predominantly used in the production of underwear. Modal knits are primarily used for making lingerie. However, Modal's silver-white luster, excellent dyeability, and vibrant colors after dyeing make it suitable for outerwear as well. This is why Modal is increasingly being used for outer garments and decorative fabrics. To address the lack of crispness in pure Modal products, it can be blended with other fibers, resulting in a superior effect. The JM/C (50/50) blend can rectify this issue. The blended fabrics made with this yarn make cotton fibers softer and improve the fabric's appearance. Modal also demonstrates its weaving capabilities in woven fabrics, allowing it to be woven with other fiber yarns to create a variety of fabrics. Modal products hold great potential for development in modern clothing and fashion accessories.
