Upland cotton (depreciated cotton)
Also known as Asian cotton, it refers to various species of cotton, including medium cotton and jute cotton, characterized by coarse, short fibers with elasticity. This type of cotton fiber, due to its short length and coarse, hard texture, is white or pale white, lacks luster, and has lower utility value and per-unit yield. It has been largely phased out domestically and there is no commercial production of this cotton variety worldwide.Fine cotton (common cotton)Also known as upland cotton, it refers to cotton varieties with medium fiber fineness and length, white or cream in color, with a silky luster, and capable of preventing fine yarns of 11~100 tex (60~6 Ne) from breaking. Upland cotton accounts for 85% of the world's total cotton production and is currently the main cotton variety cultivated in our country.Long Staple Cotton (high-grade cotton)Also known as Sea Island cotton, it refers to various types of Sea Island cotton and crossbreeds between sea and land cotton, characterized by long, fine, and soft fibers, with a creamy white or pale yellow hue, rich in luster, and excellent quality. It is the raw material for producing cotton yarn with a count below 10 tex.
