Factors Leading to Cross Grain in Knitted Fabrics
(1) Poor state of dyeing and finishing equipment, including eccentric and warped roller shafts, poor roundness, and defective screen sets on printing machines can result in cross-stripe issues on the fabric surface.
(2) The cross-bar caused by dyeing and finishing halting, due to inattentive operation, prolonged parking time, roller remaining on fabric surface, and the colorant's imprint. After fabric drying, the cross-bar becomes more pronounced.(3) Direct dyeing without proper pretreatment or incorrect pretreatment, along with unreasonable dyeing time, temperature, pressure, and dye material ratios, results in uneven coloration on the fabric surface.(4) The cotton yarn fibers have hygroscopic properties, with varying moisture regain rates, leading to uneven dryness and wetness on the fabric surface, resulting in inconsistent dyeing and horizontal streaks of varying depths.(5) During the boiling process, water evaporation leads to insufficient moisture, causing the dyed fabric surface to expose dye locally, resulting in uneven coloring.
