Full-width arched weft skew. This type of skew is characterized by weft yarn forming an arched or bow-like skew. It primarily occurs on the expansion roller of bending rolls. Due to the presence of minor wrinkles before the bending roll or drying cylinder, a bending roll is sometimes added to expand the fabric and remove wrinkles. While applying an appropriate tension to expand and wrinkle the fabric, the weft is also stretched into a middle-arched bow shape. The degree of convex curvature is related to factors such as the fabric's density and thickness, the curvature of the bending roll, and the tension the fabric experiences on the bending roll. Additionally, on silk reeling machines and sizing machines, the fabric is held by hangers as it moves forward, subjected to hot air, hot dilute alkali spray, or after the alkali is washed out, the fabric relaxes, causing a lagging effect in the middle section. After exiting the hanger, the weft forms a concave arched skew. This condition is more likely to occur in thin fabrics.
