Advantages of Phenolic Fiber:
Flame Retardancy: The flame retardant level is high with LOI 34, surpassing Aramid's LOI 29. Additionally, the composition of phenolic fiber is identical to cotton, free of toxic elements like nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur, and halogens. It exhibits flame retardant properties, directly carbonizes in flame conditions without emitting toxic smoke or melting droplets to cause secondary injuries.
Thermal Resistance: Can be used continuously at temperatures between 150-180°C. Quality loss occurs at 200°C in air, and at 250-300°C in nitrogen.
Thermal Insulation: Low thermal conductivity, offering excellent heat retention and insulation properties.
Low Temperature Performance: Good dimensional stability at low temperatures.
Chemical Resistance: Stable chemical properties, resistant to acids, alkalis, and industrial bleaches, and not soluble in the majority of organic solvents.
Other features: Excellent electrical insulation properties, with insulation resistance reaching 1000 megohms per millimeter, good sound absorption and noise insulation, soft phenolic fiber, and wool-like texture.
Phenolic fiber drawbacks: The mainstream phenolic fiber currently on the market is produced by the Groupo Showa Corporation of Japan, featuring a complex production process and high manufacturing costs. Imported prices are exorbitant, resulting in limited usage domestically.
