Differentiating Cotton Yarn from Cotton Blended Yarn

1. Cotton yarn does not spark when burning, whereas man-made cotton yarn does spark and burns at a faster rate.

2. Cotton yarn retains its strength when wet, whereas man-made cotton yarn experiences a significant decrease in strength upon wetting, with its wet strength much less than its dry strength.

3. Place cotton yarn and man-made cotton yarn in a glass of water simultaneously. Due to the better permeability of man-made cotton yarn, it will sink to the bottom of the glass first, while the cotton yarn will take a bit longer (it's worth noting that cotton yarn that has just been pre-treated but not washed with alkali liquid to remove sizing will also quickly become wet and sink due to the alkali's permeating effect). By using all three methods together, we can differentiate between cotton yarn and man-made cotton yarn.
