The raw cotton should have better maturity, dyeing uniformity, and permeability: indigo dye has poor affinity, and poor color fastness to friction, making cotton yarn spun from immature cotton more prone to uneven dyeing, leading to defects like color spots and white stars. Therefore, the content of rigid seeds, dead cotton, and cotton lumps should be minimized in the cotton yarn. 3. The yarn has fewer fibers: the number of fibers directly affects the quality of the finished product. More fibers can cause difficulties in the sliver preparation and warping process, leading to increased breaks, and can also cause the dye bath to become cloudy and thick, or even clog the pipes. 4. Fewer yarn defects like slubs and neps: for general denim, the yarn is required to have fewer defects like slubs and neps to avoid affecting the fabric's appearance and luster, and to reduce the breakage rate. 5. Larger winding capacity: typically, denim yarn has a lower count, so the winding capacity of single spools should be maximized to reduce fabric knots, and this is more pronounced when using shuttleless weaving machines. 6.
