Differentiating Cotton Yarn from Bamboo Fiber Yarn

1. Cotton yarn does not spark when burning, whereas bamboo fiber yarn does spark and burns faster.

2. Cotton yarn maintains its strength when moistened with water, whereas bamboo fiber yarn experiences a decrease in strength, dropping to about 60% of its dry strength.

3. Place cotton yarn and bamboo fiber yarn in a glass of water simultaneously. Due to the better permeability of bamboo fiber yarn compared to cotton yarn, the bamboo fiber yarn sinks to the bottom of the glass first, while the cotton yarn takes a bit longer (however, it's worth noting that cotton yarn that has undergone preliminary processing but not yet been washed with alkali liquid to remove sizing will also quickly become moist and sink due to the permeative action of the alkali).

4. The cross-sectional shapes vary under the electron microscope.
