Distinguishing between Pre-Spun and High-Elastic Yarns

The difference in processing technology between pre-twisted yarn and high-elastic yarn lies in the fact that pre-twisted yarn is pre-twisted to a certain degree before being twisted further through a false twisting machine, which sets its shape. Subsequently, the twist is removed (the twist degree is reduced), and the yarn is wound. As a result, the original bobbins of pre-twisted yarn have a twist, whereas high-elastic yarn does not. When it comes to finished products, one can simply observe the surface elasticity; products with good elasticity are made from pre-twisted yarn. Additionally, the edge of the fabric can be examined; the edge yarn of pre-twisted yarn appears spiral-like, while high-elastic yarn is as fluffy as low-elastic yarn. If the finished yarn is twisted back and stretched, the degree of curl in pre-twisted yarn is greater than that in high-elastic yarn. After the pre-twisted yarn is untwisted, regardless of how it is pulled, it always retains a slightly curly shape, and a slight force can break the yarn. In contrast, high-elastic yarn is not easily broken.
