Basic Information on Chiffon Fabric
Composition: Silk (Mulberry Silk) and synthetic fibers.
Yarn Configuration: The warp and weft yarns are made of strong twisted yarns with both S twist and Z twist in different directions, arranged alternately in a 2S, 2Z (two left, two right) pattern. If only one twist direction is used for the weft yarn, the fabric woven is called a plain weft georgette, which features irregular wavy creases in the warp direction.
The weave: Plain weave; also with variations in weave.
Density: relatively low.
Dyeing: Fiber dispersible dyes, silk acid dyes, etc.
Silk Crepe Categories
