Oxford cloth, also known as Oxford weave, is primarily made from a blend of polyester and cotton yarns, woven with cotton yarns, utilizing a plain weave structure. It boasts easy washing, quick drying, soft feel, good moisture absorption, and comfortable wear. Its appearance resembles that of color-woven fabric. Named after the original student uniform shirts made from this cotton fabric at Oxford University, the fabric gained popularity in the 1900s when a small group of unconventional students at the university designed and processed their own combed cotton fabric. This fabric featured a two-tone effect with harmonious and subdued colors, excellent breathability, and a natural comfort. Driven by this innovation, the fabric became the uniform fabric of Oxford University and subsequently became popular in Europe and America for a century, known as Oxford weave.
