Charcoal bamboo fiber is produced by incorporating nano-sized charcoal powder into the viscose spinning solution through a special process (using water as the medium, with the aid of an emulsifying dispersant and mechanical stirring to uniformly disperse the charcoal powder into a suspension). This is followed by a conventional spinning process to create the fiber product. The charcoal powder is made by a new process of high-temperature calcination with pure oxygen and nitrogen gas shielding, followed by air flow pulverization and surface modification. The particle size of the charcoal powder generally does not exceed 3μm, while the charcoal powder used for spinning charcoal polyester is typically below 0.5μm. It is then uniformly dispersed in the viscose solution using pre-spinning injection technology before being wet-spun into charcoal bamboo fiber. Currently developed products include charcoal viscose fiber, charcoal polyester, charcoal nylon, and charcoal magnetic fiber. The charcoal viscose fiber is prepared by adding a nano-sized charcoal powder emulsion during the spinning process through a solution spinning method. The production of charcoal polyester and charcoal nylon involves adding pre-made charcoal masterbatch to the pellets during the spinning process, and then spinning using melt spinning. Charcoal particles are generally selected for use with viscose base materials due to the higher breathability of cellulose compared to synthetic fiber resins, making it suitable for developing the next generation of functional fibers.
