Single yarn cross stripes refer to the phenomenon where one or several rows of loops on the surface of the fabric are either larger or smaller than the others, with uneven density. In actual production, single yarn cross stripes caused by raw materials are quite common.

The cause includes: a. Poor yarn quality, such as color differences in single fibers, including tight twisted yarn, yarn without batch numbers, uncolored long fibers, or mixing yarns of different counts, which directly leads to the occurrence of horizontal stripes in the single fibers.

b. Significant discrepancies in the size of the yarn cones, or irregularities in the shape of the cakes due to protruding shoulders and collapsed edges, can lead to uneven tension during unwinding, thereby causing cross-thread streaks. This is because the varying sizes of the cones result in different winding points and unwinding air circle diameters, which in turn cause substantial variations in the tension release pattern. During the weaving process, excessive tension differences can result in inconsistent yarn feed quantities, ultimately leading to uneven loop sizes.

When processing with porous or ultra-fine denier materials, the yarn path should be as smooth as possible. Slight roughness or oil residue solidification in a guide hook can easily cause multiple single filaments to break, leading to color variations among the filaments. Compared to processing with conventional materials, it is more demanding on the equipment and more prone to produce cross yarn stripes in the woven fabric.

d. Inadequate machine adjustments, excessively deep or shallow needle triangle pressure, cause abnormal yarn tension, resulting in inconsistent loop sizes.
