In the manufacturing of chemical fibers (man-made and synthetic fibers), the first step is to prepare the spinning stock solution, which is typically colorless or white, and the resulting fibers are also white. However, when needed, colored substances (such as color masterbatches) or pre-spinning dyeing can be added to the stock solution, mixed thoroughly, and then spun to produce a variety of colored fibers, which can be short or long fibers. The colored fibers obtained through stock solution dyeing have stable color phases, good color fastness, and lower production costs, but larger batches increase the cleaning burden on the spinning equipment. Therefore, it is generally only used to produce more common color phases, such as blue, black, and group textiles, making it difficult for small batch production that rapidly adapts to market demand.
