Hardening Furnace Introduction

The tempering furnace is one of the key equipment used in metal heat treatment processes to improve the properties of the material after quenching. Tempering is generally carried out immediately after quenching.

Quenched metal, while significantly increased in hardness and strength, becomes more brittle and has high internal residual stresses, leading to deformation and cracking.

The tempering process involves heating the metal after quenching to a specific temperature and then cooling it slowly to reduce internal stresses, enhance toughness, and stabilize the material's dimensions.

Purpose of tempering furnace

Widely applied in various industries such as mechanical manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding, and light industry.

Used for heat treatment of metal parts such as high-speed steel, alloy steel, bearing steel, die steel, and aluminum alloy castings, pistons, aluminum plates, etc.

The process can be carried out in air, protective atmosphere, or a vacuum. Custom-designed multi-purpose tempering furnaces are also available for annealing and aging, etc.

When applied in aerospace precision heat treatment and other uses, combined with a microcomputer high-precision temperature control system, the uniformity of the furnace temperature achieves ±3-5°C.
