Building stones have won the recognition and favor of consumers with their excellent decorative effects and performance. However, if improper methods are used during the application of the facing stones or if they are used for too long, the indoor stones may inevitably develop spots or yellowing. At this point, many consumers hope to rejuvenate the stones through simple methods. So, how to rejuvenate building stones?
Sandblasting
Sandblasting, also known as particle喷射, restores the natural appearance of rough and irregular stone surfaces. Modern particle or micron particle喷射 utilizes airflow pressures of approximately 105~106 Pa. Carefully designed portable喷射 machines automatically recycle and separate working particles, as well as absorb dust. Particle materials include: quartz powder, natural fine sand, corundum powder, calcite powder, glass microspheres, blast furnace slag particles, plastic particles, etc. These particles are categorized by diameter into general particles (0.1~0.5mm) and microparticles (0.05~0.1mm), and can be selected based on the situation.
2. Coating:
The purpose of coatings is to conceal and disguise; when done well, they can almost pass for the real thing. For instance, when using faux stone paint on exterior walls, we have utilized waste from cut stone to create coatings for simulated fireboard and textured panels. For indoor flooring, such as for stones that are severely eroded, have holes, cracks, or are more porous, the process involves first filling the holes and cracks with a resin and filler, then reinforcing with stone enhancer, and finally, polishing.
3. Polishing:
Polishing can restore the natural appearance of stone surfaces that have become dull, powdery, and flaking, or have suffered surface erosion. The combination of new abrasive tools, abrasives, and chemical additives can achieve a mirror-like luster of over 90 Gousses on the refinished stone surface.
