Traction Hoist Gate Operators are commonly used on flat and arched gates, with arched gates requiring specific arched gate traction hoist operators. They are particularly preferred in large reservoirs, shipyards, and hydropower stations. Before the operation of the traction hoist operator, it should be inspected. Upon arrival at the construction site, the traction hoist equipment should be checked in accordance with the relevant regulations of DL/T5019-94 "Manufacturing and Inspection Standards for Hoist Operators in Hydropower and Water Conservancy Projects" (hereinafter referred to as "DL/T5019").

Upon inspection and approval, installation may proceed. The length of wire rope coiled on the drum should leave at least 4 turns on the drum when the hoisting point is at the lower limit position. When the hoisting point is at the upper limit position, the wire rope must not wrap around the smooth part of the drum. The difference in the hoisting distance of the double-point lifting machine should not exceed ±3.0mm; after the wire rope is tensioned, the centerlines of the two lifting shafts should be on the same horizontal plane, with a height difference not exceeding 5.0mm within the opening.

Prior to energizing electrical equipment for tests, all connections should be carefully inspected and should conform to the diagram specifications. The insulation resistance of the entire circuit must be greater than 0.5MΩ before commencing the energization test. During the test, the temperature rise of all motors and electrical components should not exceed their respective permissible values, and the test should utilize the electrical equipment of the machine itself. If any contact or component shows signs of burning, the cause should be investigated and the component replaced. The height indicator and load indicator should reflect the travel and weight; upon reaching the upper and lower limit positions, the master switch should be able to signal and automatically disconnect the current, causing the machinery to stop operation.
