Do you know the technical requirements for gate installation?
The installation of flat sluice gates and their embedded components should be carried out according to the specifications of the construction drawings.
The installation of flat gate embedment components should comply with provisions of Article 9.1.3, 9.1.4, and 9.1.10 to 9.1.13 of DL/T5018-94.
(3) The installation and adjustment of the main bearing components of the gate should be carried out only after the gate leaf structure has been assembled and welded, and has passed measurement and calibration. All main bearing surfaces must be adjusted to the same plane, with the error not exceeding the specifications in the construction drawings.
(4) Installation of the water filling device and the automatic hoist/detach beam positioning device should be in accordance with the construction drawings, with attention to their coordination with the automatic hoist/detach beam to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Installation requirements for flat gate waterseal devices shall be carried out in accordance with regulations.
(6) After the flat gate installation is complete, all debris on the gate leaf should be cleared from the surface of the embedded components, with particular attention to removing cement slurry from the surface of the stainless steel water seal seat plate. Apply or inject lubricant on the sliding track support surface and the roller shaft sleeve.
(7) Only flat sluice gates and their grooves' embedded parts that have been inspected and approved by the supervisor can be repainted and repaired in accordance with regulations.
(8) The flat gate installation is complete and should undergo a static balance test. The testing method involves lifting the gate freely from the ground by 100mm and measuring the tilt in the upstream-downstream and left-right directions through the center of a roller, pulley, or slide track. The tilt of a single-hoist flat gate should not exceed 1/1000 of the gate height, and should not be more than 8mm; the tilt of a flat chainwheel gate should not exceed 1/1500 of the gate height, and should not be more than 3mm. If the above specifications are exceeded, weighting adjustments should be made.
1.2.2 Testing of Sluice Gates
After the installation of the sluice gate is completed, the contractor shall conduct a test and inspection of the gate together with the supervisor. Prior to the test, it is necessary to check and confirm that the automatic hoist/drop beam hoist/drop hook operates smoothly and reliably; the water filling device rises and falls freely within its range and is well-sealed; and the connection of the hoisting rods is good.
The testing items for the sluice gate include:
(1) Full-range opening and closing test under dry conditions. The test process verifies that the guide or roller operates without any jamming, and the synchronous operation of the double-hoist gate should meet the design specifications. At the fully closed position of the gate, the rubber water seal is undamaged, the light leakage check is passed, and the water stop is tight. Throughout the testing process of this project, it is essential to use clean water for heavy rinsing lubrication on the contact surface between the rubber water seal and the stainless steel water seal seat plate to prevent damage to the rubber water seal.
(2) Full-travel opening and closing test under still water conditions. This test should be conducted after the waterless test has passed. The test and inspection contents are the same as those of the waterless test (excluding the light leakage check of the water seal device).
(3) Water-Operated Gate Opening and Closing Test. For accident gates and operating gates, the opening and closing tests under water conditions should be conducted according to the construction drawings. The test water head should be as consistent as possible with the design water head. Prior to the water test, the contractor shall, based on the construction drawings and site conditions, prepare a test outline and submit it for the supervisor's approval before implementation.
(4) General Functionality Test. For a flat gate with multiple slots in use, it is mandatory to conduct the entire opening and closing test in a dry condition, separately in each gate slot, and ensure passing inspection; for situations where a set of automatic hanging beam operation is used for multi-hole and multi-panel gates, a sequential operation test should be performed for each hole and panel, ensuring the reliability of the hooking and unhooking action.
