Hot-dip galvanizing is a heat treatment process, and if the galvanized steel grating is sensitive to deformation aging, it can accelerate the occurrence of deformation aging, making the grating脆. To avoid this brittleness risk, it is advisable to use steel that is insensitive to deformation aging. If a particular steel is considered to be sensitive to deformation aging, deep cold working of the steel grating should be avoided if possible. If deep cold working cannot be avoided, stress-relieving heat treatment should be performed on the steel grating before acid pickling and hot-dip galvanizing. In modern industrial production, such issues are generally not encountered, as aluminum steel can reduce deformation aging to a low level. Steel grating that has been strengthened through edge heat treatment and cold working will also experience tempering due to heat during hot-dip galvanizing, which can reduce the strength obtained through heat treatment and cold working. Quenched steel and steel grating that has been stretched deeply will have internal stresses, which can increase the risk of cracking in the zinc bath during acid pickling and hot-dip galvanizing.
