The design of the roller kiln furnace body encompasses various elements, including determining dimensions, defining the working system, selecting the furnace material, calculating fuel combustion, heat balance calculations, transmission calculations, pipe size resistance calculations, fan selection, and engineering material cost estimates. Today, we share with you the determination of the internal height of the roller kiln furnace.

The preheat zone of the roller kiln primarily relies on convection heat exchange, resulting in a higher internal height compared to the firing zone, which reduces the cross-sectional area and increases the flow velocity, enhancing the intensity of convection heat exchange. The height of the roller should be greater than the height of the products, but for large porcelain pieces, the roller height should be slightly larger than the sum of the roller radius, the thickness of the support plate, and the height of the products.

Roller heights on kilns for firing glazed tiles should theoretically be greater than the diagonal length of the tiles to ensure ease of handling in case of accidents. However, for large products, adhering to this calculation would result in excessively high internal heights, which increases the heat loss through the kiln walls and is also不利 for heat transfer within the kiln. Since products often fall off the rollers, this is especially true for large pieces, which tend to be smaller in size compared to whole tiles. Therefore, based on the actual conditions of roller kilns in various regions, it is sufficient for the roller height to be just greater than or equal to the length of the product's longer side.

The internal height of the roller kiln is divided into two parts by the rollers: roller-top height and roller-bottom height. For the roller-top height settings, consider the following four aspects: whether damaged bodies can smoothly fall between the roller bars, the height of the burners should be appropriately set, the intensity of heat exchange between the gas and the bodies, and the unobstructed airflow and combustion space.
