BER 8.7/15kV 1x25 cable

Model: BER Cable
Voltage Rating: 8.7/15 kV
Square numbers: 6mm² - 630mm²
1 Cable Technical Conditions
1.1 Conductor
The conductor is made of tin-plated annealed soft copper, complying with the specifications of the 5th type of soft copper conductor in GB/T 3956-2008, and is wrapped externally with a semi-conductive tape.
1.2 Insulation
Insulation is made of ethylene propylene rubber (EPR), adhering to the specified nominal thickness in Table 1. The minimum thickness at the thinnest point should not be less than 90%-0.1mm of the nominal value. The insulation performance meets the requirements for EPR insulation blend as specified in GB/T 12706.2-2008.
Simultaneously extrude half-conductive conductor shielding and peelable insulating shielding during insulation extrusion.
2 Cable Test Conditions
2.1 The direct resistance of the cable conductor at 20℃ shall comply with the requirements of the 5th type of soft copper plated metal conductor as specified in GB/T 3956-2008.
2.2 The cable should withstand an AC voltage of 18kV without puncturing during a 15-minute withstand voltage test.
Cables allow a bend radius of 6 times the outer diameter after insulation.
4 All other matters not specified shall refer to the relevant provisions in GB/T 12706.2-2008.
Description of BER Series Chloroprene Rubber Insulated Soft Cables
Product Voltage Grades and Production Range
Voltage Range: 1-110kV
Specification Range: Up to 630 sq. ft.
Product Applications (Potential Users)
Temporary work cables for electric power company, internal connections for transformer cabinets and switchgear, external connections for transformer cabinets and switchgear, accessories factory test cables (reusable).
The source of versatility for all applications lies in the product's flexibility, allowing for easy reuse, with a small bend radius (6D) and minimal space requirements.
Three Product Structure and Performance Features
Conductors are made of 5 types of soft conductors, usually tin-plated.
Insulation for cables with 6kV and above utilizes a three-layer co-extrusion process, offering the same voltage withstand and partial discharge performance as cross-linked cables.
Cables with 6kV and above use copper wire braid for shielding, which is flexible and suitable for bending and movement requirements. For short distances (less than 5 meters), metallic shielding may not be necessary, but it must be confirmed by a technician.
The sheath is made of chloroprene, offering flame-retardant and oil-resistant properties.
Four Selection of Accessories for Medium and High Voltage Flexible Cables
Use cold shrink or heat shrink accessories for cross-linked cables, but note: due to the softer conductor being thicker than the same cross-sectional solid conductor, and the insulation layer typically being 0.5mm thicker than the cross-linked insulation, the overall outer diameter will be larger by more than 1.5mm after insulation. There are no issues when crimping the terminal nuts, and the accessory sizes may sometimes need to be a size larger than the cross-linked cable.
