Twisted pair with double shielding; each pair of twisted wires is individually shielded, and the outer layer shares one or more shielding layers.
Shielded wire refers to wires that have a shielding layer internally, with the shielding layer being made of foil and woven mesh. The shielding layer of a single-shield wire consists only of a single layer of foil. Double-shielded wire is coated with a layer of foil and a layer of metal woven wire. Double-shielded wire and unshielded wire vary depending on the application environment. Double-shielded wire is mainly used in environments with significant interference. Typically, unshielded wire is used for connections in everyday network environments.
The structure of the shielding wire determines its application. Shielding equipment manufacturers use it to reduce the impact of external electromagnetic interference on data transmission. It is typically used in data center environments where the electromagnetic environment is complex and has strong anti-interference capabilities.
Interference in the environment can lead to transmission signal interruption or even complete breakdown in network cables, rendering normal transmission impossible. The shielding structure of shielded cables inherently offers advantages in reducing interference between cables. It not only shields external electromagnetic signals but also prevents the cable itself from leaking electromagnetic waves through aluminum foil. Aluminum foil does not emit interference signals, and it can prevent interference with other cables, thereby safeguarding against information interception.
Within the shielding wire, there will be one copper wire, known as the ground wire. This ground wire is used by shielding equipment manufacturers to shield RJ45 jacks. When in use, the end with the twisting wire should be grounded. The ground wire provides better shielding against external signals. Shielding wires require a good ground, while the shielding needs to reduce the impact of strong interference on network signals. Do not use shielding wires when not necessary, as the cabling requirements for shielding wires are high. Therefore, not only is a part of the system shielded, but a good ground can also play a role. Poor grounding will result in poor performance.
