Large Leaf Red Rose Apple Variety Features Native to Malaysia, the large-leaf red jambu fruit boasts vibrant red coloration on the outside. Close to the fruit, it emits a fragrant scent, offering a refreshing, cool sensation upon a bite. It is ideal for quenching thirst and cooling down the body, particularly in hot weather. The large-leaf red jambu is more cold-resistant than other jambu trees and can withstand frost without hindering growth, making it suitable for cultivation in areas with frost. It can produce fresh, bright red fruits at temperatures ranging from about 2 degrees Celsius to around 40 degrees Celsius. The fully grown tree typically stands about 3 meters tall, remains evergreen throughout the year, produces multiple shoots and flowers, grows vigorously, and bears abundant fruit. The leaves of this variety are significantly larger than those of other jambu trees. The fruiting branches of this variety mature quickly, and after pruning, can produce three flushes of new growth, especially useful in off-season fruit cultivation, where it accelerates flowering. The large-leaf red mangosteen fruits are flat or conical in shape, with a distinct raised texture on the skin. Upon ripening, the fruit's calyx has four small, separate sepals, and the flesh is dense. Both the spongy tissue and the fruit cavity are small. The fruit measures about 6.9 cm in length and approximately 7.6 cm in width near the fruit's base, with the calyx being flat or slightly convex. The width of the fruit is often greater than its length, with a sugar content of about 12-13 degrees Brix, and an average weight of about 160 grams. Large-leaf red mangosteen seedlings are not strict about soil requirements, as they can be planted in sandy, clay, red loam, and slightly acidic or alkaline soils. However, slightly alkaline, moist, fertile clay loam is still the most suitable. When planting, proper pruning, nutrition management, irrigation and drainage, frost protection, and harvest timing regulation should be well managed.
