The Fēizǐxiào is a variety of lychee, also known as Luòtángpú or Yùhébāo. The late Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu wrote: "A single horse galloping through the red dust, the concubine smiles, no one knows it's lychees arriving." This is how the variety Fēizǐxiào got its name. This variety features large fruits, thick flesh, beautiful color, small seeds, and sweet taste, with excellent quality and flavor. It is primarily distributed in regions such as Guangdong and Guangxi, and is one of the early-maturing varieties. The Fēizǐxiào variety is characterized by robust growth, ease of propagation, tolerance to fertilization, preference for water, thick branches, and large leaves. It is sensitive to calcium deficiency in the soil; without calcium fertilization over several years, the leaves gradually shrink, branches become shorter, and the tips and edges of the leaves turn yellow, resulting in the so-called "Fēizǐxiào degeneration phenomenon." The Fēizǐxiào is also sensitive to soil water deficiency; during the dry autumn and winter seasons, severe soil drought can cause sunburn on the leaves, affecting the growth and quality of the flower spikes. This variety is "early maturing, between March Red and Black Leaf, with large fruit shape." The fruit ripens from late May to mid-June. The fruit of this variety is sweet and edible before it turns red, but its quality declines once fully red and overripe. Product Actual Photos
