Product Introduction

The Fēizǐxiào is a variety of litchi, also known as Luòtángpú and Yùhébāo. The late Tang poet Du Mu wrote: "A rider gallops through the red dust, the concubine smiles, no one knows it's litchi arriving." The Fēizǐxiào variety was named after this.

This variety features large fruits, thick flesh, beautiful color, small seeds, and sweet taste, with excellent quality and flavor. It is primarily distributed in regions such as Guangdong and Guangxi, and is one of the better early-maturing varieties.

The "Feizi Xiao" variety is characterized by robust growth, ease of propagation, tolerance to rich soil, preference for water, and thick branches with large leaves. This variety is particularly sensitive to calcium deficiency in the soil; without the application of calcium fertilizers over several years, the leaves gradually shrink, branches become shorter, and the tips and edges of the leaves turn yellow, resulting in the so-called "Feizi Xiao degeneration phenomenon." The "Feizi Xiao" is also sensitive to soil moisture deficiency; during the dry seasons of autumn and winter, severe soil dryness can cause sunburn on the leaves, affecting the growth and quality of the flower spikes.

This variety is "early maturing, with a harvest period between March Red and Black Leaf, featuring large fruit." The fruit ripens from late May to mid-June. The fruit of this variety is sweet and edible before it turns red, but its quality declines once it becomes fully red and overripe.
