Bati Mu Wood Characteristics: Thickness of 1-3 cm, soft texture, easy to peel off. Outer bark ranges from gray-brown to gray-white; features fine alligator-like cracks. Inner bark is yellow-brown; phloem fibers are well-developed, easily torn into pine needle-like or flax-like strands; stone cells are prominent. Transverse section: Heartwood and sapwood are clearly distinguishable. Heartwood is deep yellow to orange yellow. Sapwood is light yellow or yellow-white, about 4 cm wide. Growth rings are not distinct. Macroscopic structure: Open-pored wood. Vessels are clearly visible to the naked eye, slightly fewer and larger; mainly single vessels, few radial multiples (2); contain yellow-brown sediments and filling materials. Axial parenchyma is slightly visible under a magnifying glass, sparse, annular-tubular. Wood rays are visible under a magnifying glass, slightly dense, narrow.
