(2) Sometimes, due to the dryness at the grassroots level, if water is not applied, the waterproof coating may lose moisture, affecting the film-forming effect. Therefore, it is necessary to spray an appropriate amount of water on the base surface.
(3) For areas like inside and outside corners, apply a waterproof reinforcement layer by brushing up to 150mm in height on both the facade and the flat surface.
(4) After the coating has cured for 48 hours, conduct a water-tightness test by touching it with your hand without sticking. Do not accumulate water up to the height of the facade; instead, continuously sprinkle and rinse water on it to check for any leakage on the balcony.
(5) After passing the preliminary water-tightness test, drain the water and lay the tiles. Once the tiles are installed, conduct another water-tightness test. Only upon achieving complete qualification is the project truly finished.

The transformation is as follows: 1 mole of water has a volume of 18 ml; 1 mole of water vapor occupies 22.4 liters = 22,400 ml. In other words, when a unit of water fully converts to vapor within the limited space of a building, it generates a pressure 1,240 times greater. The destructiveness of this pressure is truly terrifying.
2. Characteristics of Water: Water is pervasive, seeping into the building's interior gradually through forces such as wind pressure, convection, impact, adhesion, and capillary action. It's not easily detectable on the surface during the infiltration process. In other words, to find the cause of leakage, one must conduct an in-depth "internal" analysis to address the problem effectively.
3. Waterproofing must be applied to a solid structure: The interface where the waterproofing material is attached must be free of bulging, sanding, honeycomb structure, wood splinters, paper debris, sludge, small stones, and should not be done on a loose and unstable surface. This is due to poor adhesion, compounded by the destructive effects of ultraviolet rays from the sun, the thermal expansion and contraction of the building itself, and the pressure from water vapor, which can easily lead to the aging and failure of the waterproofing layer.
4. Perimeter sealing is prone to failure: Waterproofing should address the root cause, as water permeates through every crack and can cause pressure damage. How can it last if the root problem is not resolved?
5. Positive Waterproofing: For instance, roof waterproofing is directly applied to the roof surface, wall waterproofing should be done on the exterior walls, water leakage in water tanks should be addressed on the inner layer, and bathroom seepage requires removing the bathtub and tiles, then re-waterproofing. Why? Water exerts pressure and can spread elsewhere, making it difficult to waterproof in the house's hard-to-reach areas. The "positive" here refers to a comparative approach, not a definitive one. As technology advances, there are now various waterproofing materials available on the market, such as silicate powder series that resist negative water pressure and synthetic resins that produce expanding crystalline structures under high and low pressure, which can also prevent water leakage. However, not all situations are suitable for successful application, so unless unavoidable, positive waterproofing should be employed.
