1. A significant portion of plants used in landscape gardening projects are purchased from dealers, many of whom are ill-informed farmers. In landscape design, plant names are typically the scientific names. However, dealers often only know the common or local names of plants. In some cases, the common or local names of plants can be identical to the scientific names of another species, such as where certain regions refer to Spiraea tomentosa as Pearlbush, while the term Holly used by northern locals refers to Buxus megistophylla, not the scientific name of Holly, and so on.
2. Standard-sized seedlings are generally categorized into three types based on their cultivation methods: nursery-grown seedlings, commonly found in mountainous areas; and dense thickets or woodlands in gardens and green spaces. Seedlings cultivated in nurseries are usually transplanted multiple times, resulting in a high survival rate upon planting and quick recovery. In contrast, seedlings that have not been transplanted often have well-developed primary roots and fewer lateral roots, leading to a relatively lower survival rate upon transplantation.
