Crystals are the only devices for diffraction in the X-ray spectrum. Crystals, in conjunction with energy, satisfy Bragg's equation, and by rotating the crystal angle, different energy scans and selections can be achieved. Conventionally produced crystals are typically flat, capable of diffraction but not imaging. Through special processes, crystals can be bent to enhance the imaging function of the crystal device, while also improving the instrument's light collection efficiency, making them widely applicable.
