Pneumatic Sanding MachineIt is one of the common polishing equipment, capable not only of surface finishing on scrap materials but also of purification processing. Although the process of the polishing machine is relatively complex, the products processed by it are of high precision and smooth surfaces. Moreover, the polishing machine boasts advantages such as low noise, high efficiency, compact size, and easy operation, making it a popular choice among a wide range of customers.
Crafting a superior product is not merely about mastering the operational methods; it also requires a certain level of polishing expertise. Operators who cannot control the polishing techniques will not be able to achieve a smooth and rounded product surface. Here are seven polishing tips for polishing machines.
When polishing, follow the grain of the wood; never cross-grain, as this can tear the wood grain, leaving lasting flaws on the finished furniture.
②When using an air polishing machine, it is important to select sandpapers of different grits appropriately: a. Avoid overly coarse sandpapers and excessive use of a single type; b. Do not skip grits (referring to sandpaper types), jumping from 200# to 600# or 800#.
③ When polishing outer arc and inner bow-shaped sheet parts, it is essential to use a template (a template with the same shape as the sheet parts, with sandpaper placed on it for polishing). If using an electric or pneumatic small sanding machine, the machine should follow the shape of the sheet parts to prevent creating steps.
④ Sand and brush as you go. The simple falling of sandpaper granules allows for the breaking of wood grain as you rub. Moreover, the dust from sanding easily gets embedded in crevices, so it's necessary to brush off the dust with a dry brush during sanding, continuing to sand and brush until the surface is smooth and even.
⑤ When polishing, typically use four fingers and the palm to hold, with the thumb gripping the sandpaper. For larger furniture, place a wooden strip under the surface and sand along the grain.
⑥When polishing the corners of objects or spearheads, avoid sanding them down excessively. The movement should be gentle, and it is crucial to maintain the original circular or square shape. The decorative lines must remain straight, without any curves, cracks, or deformations.
When there are minor dents and scratches on the board parts, they should first be heated with hot water and an iron. After heating, try to restore the original flatness as much as possible before sanding. If using the thumb, index finger, and middle finger to press the sandpaper, it should be limited to the sanded area only, as it is not suitable for sanding large areas of workpieces. Otherwise, the entire flat surface may become uneven, and the concave appearance will be clearly visible after painting.
