The coupling diaphragm product is very common in the installation process of transmission machinery, and its actual application range is also very extensive. Let's discuss the practical applications of the coupling diaphragm, as well as a simple comparison between traditional coupling diaphragms and metal coupling diaphragms, etc., hoping to provide some insights for everyone.

Firstly, due to the torque control, constant torque, good slip characteristics, stable connection, short response time, smooth operation without wear particles, and suitability for slip use of the coupling diaphragm, it is not only used for overloading protection and no-load starting in industry but also for clutches, tension control, speed regulation, test loading, reversing, and more. It is now applied in aircraft, missiles, measurement, shipping, textiles, papermaking, printing, dyeing, metallurgy, machine tools, cables, building materials, computer peripherals, automatic control systems, and mechanical shaft transmission systems.

The metal coupling diaphragms are assembled by several groups of diaphragms (stainless steel thin plates) connected to both halves of the coupling diaphragm with bolts in an interlocking pattern. Each group consists of multiple stacked plates, with diaphragms available in rod-style and various solid shapes.

Coupling diaphragms compensate for the relative displacement between two shafts through the elastic deformation of the diaphragm itself. They are high-performance metal elastic elements in flexible coupling diaphragms that do not require lubrication. These diaphragms have a compact structure, high strength, long service life, no rotational clearance, and are unaffected by temperature and oil contamination. They exhibit resistance to acids and alkalis. Suitable for shaft drives in high-temperature, high-speed, and corrosive environments, they are widely used in various mechanical drives, such as pumps (especially high-power and chemical pumps), fans, compressors, hydraulic machinery, petroleum equipment, printing machinery, textile machinery, chemical equipment, mining machinery, metallurgical machinery, aviation (helicopters), and high-speed power transmission systems for naval vessels. After dynamic balancing, their application in high-speed shaft drives has become quite common.

The coupling diaphragm, compared to the gear-type coupling diaphragm, has no relative sliding, requires no lubrication or sealing, generates no noise, requires minimal maintenance, is easier to manufacture, and can partially replace the gear-type coupling diaphragm. The coupling diaphragm is widely used in developed industries, and in practical applications, it is typically used in conjunction with an intermediate shaft to enhance the compensation performance for axis offset.

The coupling diaphragm torque control has a wide range and high precision. Torque is directly proportional to excitation current over a wide range, enabling perfect and simplified control of torque transmission and can be used as a linear regulating element. It features constant torque characteristics, where the torque depends only on the magnitude of the excitation current, regardless of the relative speed between the driving and driven sides, exhibiting a fixed torque nature with the static and dynamic torques being equal. It can transmit torque without slippage, shock, vibration, or noise, ensuring smooth operation, making it suitable for applications with high working frequencies.
