How Microsilica Enhances Ultra-High Strength Concrete

Microsilica is an ideal admixture for concrete, primarily composed of silicon dioxide, with a fineness that reaches the micron level. It boasts superior advantages that are unparalleled by other mineral powder materials. The reinforcing effect of microsilica stems from its ultra-high activity, the secondary hydration activation, and its micron-level fineness, which can fill the voids in concrete and other aggregates. Particularly when the cement particles are around 300 mesh, microsilica, with its fineness, fills the gaps within the cement. In RPC ultra-high-strength concrete components that require steam curing, microsilica undergoes high-temperature steam curing during the concrete production process, accelerating the hydration reaction. The secondary hydration of microsilica and cement is also prematurely activated, with its activity fully released. As a result, a high compressive strength can be achieved in as little as 3 days or even less.
