What are the main factors affecting the filtration cycle speed of plate and frame filter presses?

1. Does the material have any adhesive properties?

Material with adhesiveness, as well as the separation of solid and liquid substances, is relatively poor. Poor material fluidity also affects filtration speed. The plate and frame filter press consists of alternating filter plates and filter frames, forming a set of filter chambers. The surface of the filter plates features grooves with protruding parts to support the filter cloth. The corners of the filter frames and plates have through-holes, which, upon assembly, create a complete passage for the introduction of suspension, washing water, and the extraction of filtrate. The污泥压滤机(sludge filter press)is suitable for filter cakes with high compressibility or nearly incompressible suspensions. The suitable suspension typically has a solid particle concentration of less than 10%, operating pressure usually ranges from 0.3 to 0.6 MPa, with special cases reaching up to 3 MPa or more.

2. Selection of Feed Pumps

The pressure filter's filtration power comes from the feed pump. The pressure filter utilizes a special filtration medium to apply pressure to the material, causing the liquid to permeate out, making it a mechanical equipment commonly used for solid-liquid separation. It is widely used in industries such as chemicals, metallurgy, dye, food, brewing, ceramics, and environmental protection. This is because the flow rate and head of the feed pump directly affect the speed of the filter cycle in plate and frame pressure filters.

3. Filter Fabric Selection

Filter cloths, as a filtering medium, are suitable for different materials based on their mesh count. Although higher mesh counts in filter cloths result in higher filtration precision, they also correspondingly slow down the filtration speed. Different industries have varying requirements for filtrates, so it's essential to choose the appropriate filter cloth based on your specific needs. Therefore, the selection of filter cloth is crucial.

4. Material concentration levels

The flow rate of the feed pump refers to the flow rate of clear water. Therefore, the higher the material concentration, the greater the impact on the feed pump, resulting in slower flow rates and reduced filtration speed. The plate-and-frame filter press consists of alternating filter plates and filter frames that form a filter chamber. The surface of the filter plates features grooves, with their protruding parts used to support the filter cloth. The corners of the filter frames and plates have through-holes, which, upon assembly, create a complete channel for the passage of suspension, washing water, and the extraction of filtrate.

Material particle size

The particle size content of the feed slurry is higher, which results in a larger surface area of the material. Consequently, the flow rate transported by the feed pump is correspondingly reduced, as is the filtration speed.
