It can die-cut corrugated cardboard, cardstock, and sticker paper, as well as rubber, foam, metal sheets, and more.
The vertical flat die-cutting machine, commonly known as the "Tiger's Mouth," gets its name from either the biting action it resembles during operation or its safety in not easily harming people. Regardless, it vividly describes the working characteristics of the vertical flat die-cutting machine. Structurally, it is primarily divided into two main parts: the body and the press frame, with the die-cutting platform mounted on the body. There are two types based on the mode of operation: single swing and double swing. The single swing type refers to the die-cutting process where the press frame swings while the body remains stationary (i.e., the platform does not move). The platform first contacts the lower part of the press frame before the upper part, and at the end of the die-cutting, the upper part leaves first, followed by the lower part, resulting in uneven and varying force application, which has led to its decreasing use and eventual phasing out. The double swing type involves both the body and the press frame moving during die-cutting; before contact, the press frame's flat plate and the platform are parallel, and the contact form is parallel movement, resulting in a uniform and strong pressure. Most of the vertical flat die-cutting machines produced are of this type. The vertical flat die-cutting machine can also be divided into semi-automatic and fully automatic types based on the degree of automation. Currently, the domestic vertical flat die-cutting machines (Tiger's Mouth) produced are mainly semi-automatic, with die-cutting performed by the machine and feeding and collecting paper done manually. Due to the relationship between production quality, efficiency, and the operator's proficiency, as well as the risk of accidents, developed countries like the United States have explicitly banned the use of this equipment.
