Fixed Brackets: Fixed brackets secure pipes in their proper positions on the bracket, their role being to bear the horizontal thrust exerted by the pipe due to thermal expansion. When all heating pipes are fitted with adjustable brackets, the pipes may expand or contract endlessly along the straight pipe section, in severe cases causing the pipe to shift from its position or generating thermal stress at junctions such as tees or elbows, potentially leading to stress-induced weld damage.
When setting up compensators to offset the thermal expansion of a pipeline section, the ends of the pipeline section being compensated must be kept stationary. This is to evenly distribute the thermal expansion of the pipeline between the compensators.
Sliding Supports: The function of sliding supports is to evenly distribute and bear the total loads of piping, heat medium, insulation material, pipe fittings, or valves on the piping. In addition to bearing the above basic loads, movable supports also allow the piping to move freely on the supports.
