Products shipped to Ghana must undergo testing and inspection to ensure compliance with Ghana's and international standards for environmental, health, and safety. Under the mandatory requirements of the Ghana Conformity Assessment Programme (G-CAP), importers and exporters must obtain a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) from authorized bodies to facilitate smooth customs clearance of goods entering Ghana. G-CAP verifies the conformity of all regulated products and enforces their related standards. In addition to existing import procedures, products must also meet the requirements of CAP. The scope of Ghana CoC certification: Any product exported to Ghana by exporters, if included in the following categories, regardless of the country of origin, must obtain a conformity certificate for customs clearance. Failure to have a CoC upon arrival can result in significant customs delays, fines, or even product return.
