Regulated Products: Products under the Prohibited Products List and the Exempted Products List are not subject to regulation. The Uganda Export Pre-Shipment Conformity Assessment Program regulates the following categories of products:

Uganda PVoC inspections are available in three methods.

ROUTE A: Shipment Inspection and Certification, primarily suitable for exporters/manufacturers with infrequent exports to Uganda (usually not more than three times a year). Under Route A, goods to be shipped to Uganda must undergo product performance testing and on-site inspection prior to shipment to demonstrate compliance with relevant standards, basic product requirements, or manufacturer specifications. This method is applicable to any trade group.

ROUTE B: Customer Application for Product Registration and Shipment Certification – This route is primarily suitable for exporters/manufacturers with a higher frequency of exports and a relatively single product variety each year. The validity of the registration is one year. Registered products are exempt from mandatory testing upon shipment, and the certification process involves only basic on-site inspections. However, during the registration period, random testing of the registered products is still required to ensure compliance.

ROUTE C: This method is suitable for factories.
