Saudi SABER Certification
The Saudi Arabia Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO) has issued an emergency notice, mandating the implementation of its online certification platform, SABER, as of January 1, 2019.
What is SABER?
SABER is a compliance assessment program for non-domestic Saudi enterprises (i.e., companies exporting to Saudi Arabia). In the SABER certification, products will be categorized by risk levels: high, medium, and low. Different compliance inspection procedures will be applied based on the risk category, with recognized institutions responsible for their execution.

1. Register for a SABER account
2. Register Import Product Information
3. Select a certification body (NEMKO INTERTEK TÜV, etc.)
4. Payment Fees
5. Agencies to contact exporters to provide relevant documents
6. Agencies upload relevant documents
Awarded PC Certificate
Step Two: Customs Clearance Certificate (SCOC)
1. Importers apply for SCOC through the SABER system
2. Payment Fee
3. Submit Application for Review
4. Inspection of Goods
5. Award SCOC Certification
