As of October 1, 2018, domestic production and imported goods must be mandatory for application under the new standards; market implementation/control for products covered by the standards will be enforced as of September 1, 2019.

June 8, 2018, the Saudi Arabian Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) issued Resolution No. 164 in its bulletin.

January 1, 2019 marks the official implementation of SASO 2902 standard.
