March 1, 2018, SASO issued a press release:

As of October 1, 2018, domestic production and imported products must be compulsorily applied for under the new standards; as of September 1, 2019, market enforcement/control will be implemented for products covered by the standards.

June 8, 2018, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) issued Resolution No. 164 in its bulletin.

As of January 1, 2019, the SASO 2902 standard is officially enforced.
