Reflecting on this, I just want to remind everyone not to rely on experience from suite renovations. Even after completing ten, you're still prone to falling into pitfalls!

After years of designing, nearly 80% of homeowners have reported that they've had experiences with failed renovations and deception. Here's what I've summarized: 1. The deception of renovation companies—basically, these are intermediary service agencies in the renovation process, relying on kickbacks (high commissions from material suppliers) and squeezing designers (those who have no artistic education but claim to have learned drafting skills on the streets, relying on the company to mislead and deceive). The true test of whether they are genuine designers is to see if they can sketch out a design plan for your home in front of you within two minutes. The company doesn't pay much to these young designers, and they're subtly encouraged to design more or push sales of main materials and even furniture to homeowners. Decorations (genuine designers can find good products in any store, but it requires artistic skills!) Moreover, under the promise of high profits, they don't care about their reputation. They just launch an ad campaign, and their phones ring off the hook. I wonder if the workers sent to customers' homes are all brought in from other places since local workers with average skills are in short supply, ha! 2. And the trickery by foremen relying on the company, shortcuts in craftsmanship, substitution of materials (replacing genuine materials with fake ones), and their bad tempers and impatience make communication difficult! (To be continued) I'm providing these reminders for those planning to renovate. (These opinions are solely mine and do not represent anyone else's views. The companies mentioned here also have dedicated foremen and designers, but they have made mistakes in their initial choices, choosing the wrong path. Once the first step is wrong, everything becomes difficult thereafter.)

7 Reasons to Hire a Designer

Should designers be paid for their design fees is a debatable issue that, in today's context, is more of a matter of opinion. If you're planning to invest a budget into your home to enhance the overall living environment and quality of life, and to infuse your personal style, hiring a () designer is a wise choice.

I've asked the same question to several homeowners who have received design services: Why did you hire a designer to design your home? I've compiled the following 7 reasons.

1. Cost-Effective: Many might find this reason rather peculiar. Hiring a designer and dealing with the reality of commission deductions might seem counterintuitive to saving money. But the logic is straightforward: you significantly reduce the "investment risk" of purchasing products that aren't suitable for your lifestyle! A client once bought an Italian-style large sofa under the "consultation" of a salesperson at a furniture store, which, when placed in the living room, instantly transformed the once spacious space into a "children's room"! Another practical point is that, based on my personal understanding of the home improvement industry, some channel home products can be more expensive than purchasing directly from the factory.

2. Assessment

True designers don't churn out a few design proposals in just 3 or 5 days. They first take the time to understand your current living environment and habits. Through gradual interaction with people and objects, they provide a detailed design plan. During this process, the designer uncovers deep-seated needs from within you that haven't been expressed yet. This is the professional skill of a good designer, which you unfortunately lack.

3. Budgets and Plans

Designers can always work within your budget plan, saving you time and effort. They clearly know where to find all the home resources you need, eliminating the need for extensive product and price research. Don't assume that selecting home furnishings for your home is a joy; aimless searching can lead to patience wearing thin and making "irresponsible" decisions about your future lifestyle. However, all of this comes easily to a designer.

4. Characteristics of Resources

The home products market is quite "deep," especially in today's era of intense homogenization, where it's challenging to find something that truly resonates with your unique style. In reality, every designer has access to highly differentiated product channels, which are exactly the items not directly sold in the market. Designers can use these items to make your home stand out and look uniquely different.

5. Unexpected

Designers can transform your home into an atmosphere beyond your imagination, as they are trained professionals with unique perspectives and thought processes. They can "see" the full picture of the project even at its inception, and they will tell you about your "future," guiding you step by step to make it a reality.

6. Recognizing Issues

A seasoned designer possesses a well-honed eye, capable of determining the viability of decorative ideas for a space and providing methods that align with your aesthetic preferences and assist you in discovering beauty. Or, it's the result of years of experience.

7. A True Home

Design is a technology, the art of living. It not only beautifies your home space but also enhances your quality of life, truly turning your house into a "home." You'll find yourself increasingly drawn to the feeling of being at home—a sense of warmth, comfort, freedom, and relaxation.
