When it comes to renovation, many people dread the process. They start with high hopes, praising the design plans. However, problems arise during the renovation, like budget overruns, subpar results, delayed timelines, and discovering that the final product is not practical...a myriad of issues. Yet, despite all the common problems mentioned, I haven't encountered any. That's because I had an exceptional freelance designer, Mr. Jiang Jianye. The house has been occupied for a while now, and we've been receiving compliments from friends and family who visit. Each time they praise our taste, we modestly express gratitude. In reality, without Mr. Jiang Jianye, I might have fallen into the same pitfalls as many others.
Several friends know that I've purchased a house and am looking for a designer. One friend introduced me to Teacher Jiang and suggested we meet. Unfortunately, Teacher Jiang was already working on a project at the time, so he couldn't assist me temporarily. I should clarify here; many people assume that interior designers will eagerly come over as soon as they have business. That's not the case. The kind you're referring to are those 'half-bottle' designers from home improvement companies. Teachers like Jiang are truly exceptional.FreedomDesigners won't take on a new project if they can't complete the current one. Plus, it's not about you choosing them; it's them choosing you, as they're never short on work—clients refer them to friends. However, if the vibe isn't right, they won't take it on either! So when a friend asked me if I was waiting, I said, "Yes!"
After about two weeks of waiting, Teacher Jiang finally began working on our case and communicated our desired outcomes. Our house is a duplex with ample space, but I've seen many friends' large homes lack substance, ending up feeling hollow and scattered. Others are overly adorned with home furnishings and decorations, which can make the house seem cluttered. So, I preemptively shared these concerns with Teacher Jiang. I still remember what he said to me, "A home is a mirror of one's life, a place that reflects the owner's perspective. The flaws in your friends' renovations might be due to a lack of soul. My role as a designer is to ensure that when people visit your home, they not only see a beautiful environment but also read the beauty of your life, feel the emotions you've poured into it, and appreciate your taste and understanding of life." These words truly opened my eyes. Later, according to my needs, Teacher Jiang provided several hand-drawn designs, revised them based on my feedback, and we had a few communications in between. I felt we had achieved the desired effect. Trusting people is a must, so I entrusted the entire renovation coordination to Teacher Jiang Jianye.
I am particularly touched by Teacher Jiang's talent and his philosophy.
His talent. For instance, the living room, which is a space for entertaining guests, should be grand and dignified, I believe, as we sometimes invite friends and colleagues over. However, I'm quite an outgoing and sunny person, and she thought that since it's a guest-receiving area, it should be refreshing and full of vitality, with originality to evoke a sense of joy. In the end, Teacher Jiang smiled and said that the two requirements were not contradictory, and she presented us with a mixed-style design plan, discussing how to match decor with the home. As you can see from the photos, the result is fantastic, blending both of our preferences. The walls and floors are in lighter shades, making the living room appear more minimalist and modern. The combination of the brown leather sofa and the jade fabric sofa is not only harmonious but also creates a complementary effect, exuding both dignity and a touch of bohemian and freshness. The curtains, table lamps, and greenery add vitality to the room. We also followed Teacher Jiang's suggestion and chose a jute rug, which gives it a rustic, countryside feel.
Mr. Jiang's philosophy is quite impressive. He offers invaluable advice on everything from the design of the ceiling, flooring, and tiles to the use of wainscoting, even the selection of oil paintings and frames, and the choice of furniture for the children's room. Sometimes, I pitch my own suggestions, and he thoughtful considers them. If they're not suitable, he'll皱眉 and say they're not good, then meticulously explain why, until I'm convinced. The final装修 outcome is truly more beautiful and practical than I could have imagined. For instance, in the bedroom, we chose wooden furniture in the same color for the floor, bed, and nightstand, which I initially feared might look monotonous. However, Mr. Jiang assured me it would create a harmonious beauty. He also added decorative items and carefully selected lighting, wall art, and table lamps. The final look was met with applause from us both, and the photos clearly show a luxurious, cozy, modern, and vibrant blend. It's fantastic.
In all, there's much to be grateful for with Master Jiang. For instance, his openness and genuine concern for the property owners. As he once told me, "A great design piece isn't just built with money; excellent products require designers to carefully select and craft them." Completing this piece that we'll be living with every day through our communication with Master Jiang has been incredibly lucky and satisfying.
